Due to significant growth in business and staff numbers in recent years and a move to new premises, Special Learning required a fresh look at their IT infrastructure which would enable them to accommodate and future-proof the growing business. Special Learning employs staff in both Physically and Virutally and collaboration between all staff is essential to the efficient operation of the company.
Solution
A full audit of this business identified the need for infrastructure which would flex with the business. Special Learning had already identified the need for web-based email and document management solutions and had selected Office 365 and Microsoft SharePoint for these purposes.
Our audit identified the need to replace end-of-life personal computers and to install an Active Directory Server / Domain Controller in Offices. These servers together with the configuration of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) link the two main offices of Special Learning together to provide a collaborative IT solution with an overall increase in IT security.
24/7 monitoring software and Managed Anti-virus was installed on all PCs and servers allowing Halian Systems IT to support the hardware proactively as part of its fixed-fee ‘Platinum Managed IT Support’ contract.
